PreKote replaces other pretreatments that contain toxic hexavalent chromium- the hazardous chemical that made Erin Brockovich a household name.

Continental Airlines has been recognized by the EPA's Design for the Environment Program for use of PreKote's environmentally friendly, non-chromium surface pretreatment for its aircraft. Continental was the first commercial air carrier to use this technology.

Delta Airlines was the second commercial air carrier to be recognized by the EPA's Design for the Environment Program for using the eco-friendly, nontoxic surface pretreatment on its aircraft.
